Mark your calendars for Thursday, Oct. 3, as Edmonds College hosts a Free Health Care Fair at Hazel Miller Hall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event is open to everyone and offers a unique opportunity to prioritize your health with expert care, vaccinations, and valuable free resources.
Journey Into Better Health
The fair, themed “Journey Into Better Health” offers vital wellness examinations and assistance. Attendees will receive wellness examinations from Edmonds College nursing students, who will be overseen by faculty members. The Seattle Visiting Nurse Association will provide COVID-19 and flu shots to ensure your and your family’s safety for the next season.
Additionally, attendees can enroll in health insurance and connect with local healthcare providers offering primary, reproductive, dental, and mental health services. For those on Apple Health, many of the providers at the event will accept your coverage and be available to discuss their services.
Bridging the Gap in Health Care Access
According to Lisa Schubert, an Edmonds College faculty member and co-chair of the event, “the goal of the health care fair is to use the expertise of Edmonds faculty, staff, and community partners, along with student service learning, to close equity gaps in health care access and improve health outcomes for everyone.”
